Modality Focus

Tui Na

(pronounced "twee-nah")

This complementary and alternative Chinese medicine modality makes use of rhythmic compression techniques along different energy channels of the body to establish harmonious flow of qi throughout the body and bringing it back to balance. By applying pressure to meridians, accupoints, and groups of muscles and nerves, tui na removes blockages and works deeply with the positive energy of the body.

Clients remain clothed, wearing loose clothing. The best part of the therapy is that it relaxes as well as energizes the person. The main benefit of tui na massage is that it focuses on the specific problem, whether it is an acute or a chronic pain associated with the joints, muscles or a skeletal system. This technique is very beneficial in reducing the pain of neck, shoulders, hips, back, arms, highs, legs and ankle disorders. It is a very effective therapy for arthritis, pain, sciatica and muscle spasms. Other benefits of this massage therapy include alleviation of stress related disorders like insomnia, constipation, headaches and other disorders related to digestive, respiratory and reproductive systems.

Our Therapist Glenn offers Tui Na.  Please click the “Schedule Now” link on our web site to book your appointment today.

Resolution Run 5K Run & Walk

START THE NEW YEAR OUT RIGHT!  Get right to your resolution of getting healthy (or staying healthy)!  The Resolution Run 5K Run & Walk will be held January 1, 2019.  Come out and have some fun while getting your year off to a healthy start.  And there's a great hoodie too!  Simply click http://www.resolutionrun.org/home/2016/10/24/register  to get registered.

Who benefits from the Resolution Run 5K?
We all benefit! Runners and walkers begin the New Year on a positive, upbeat note while helping to raise funds for some good causes. We have pledged all of the proceeds to local groups and organizations that benefit us all. Half the proceeds go towards "Project Graduation" in Hillsborough Township.  Graduates enjoy a high-spirited, all-night celebration and party immediately following the commencement exercises in June. This popular local effort is part of a nationally recognized program whose goal is to provide a drug and alcohol free celebration of life while giving graduates a positive sendoff. The remaining funds are shared between other community organizations.

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!!  If running or walking the event isn't your thing, maybe you'd like to consider volunteering.  "Many hands make light work."  Every little bit helps.  Please click here to sign up to help out.  http://www.resolutionrun.org/volunteer/

Have a joyful November!!!

Sincerely,
The Hillsborough Massage Therapy Team
